Military

One never has to look far to find violent applications for unmanned vehicles. From the V-2 to the Predator, they've filled newspapers and morgues in times of war, and military usage is synonymous with the term 'UAV' in some circles. We aim to change that.

There is a long history of 'Swords to Plowshares' technologies which after a period of military tensions were adapted to peaceful ends. GPS, for example, began as a project called MOSAIC, or Mobile System for Accurate ICBM Control. In the present day we use it for everything from directions to theft deterrance to emergency landing systems to geocaching.

Due to examples like this, while Dronepedia does not see the point in stifling public information that *might* be useful for violence (which includes the very concept of a drone), that which is *only* useful for violence has no place here. UCAVs may be covered for their aerodynamic aspects, but please refrain from discussion of actual UAV combat incidents or operational aspects of using weapons systems on real-world vehicles. If you get overly political, you may be banned, if you scare the admin, you may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
